25 YEARS OF AN ICON
The Park Hyatt Tokyo is a brand unto itself. Over the span of a quarter century, the legacy and lore of this one of a kind hotel has cemented itself into pop culture consciousness. Its walls teeming with stories of some of the world’s most powerful and influential figures in contemporary culture. With that in mind, we thought of no better way to tell the story of The Park Hyatt Tokyo than to have some of those figures that have called ‘The Park’ home off and on over the years tell us why it is so special to them. Ryuichi Sakamoto, Sofia Coppola, and Shuichi Yoshida, all titans of their respective craft, wax poetic about the profound meaning The Park Hyatt Tokyo has to them and their work. Through their words, we learn just how special this Tokyo icon is. Portraits shot my Tokyo’s finest photographer. I felt privileged to collaborate with him, as he is my friend, but also because we both share a deep personal connection to The Park Hyatt Tokyo.
